Hello Anne,
As requested here is the latest
news since I took action to get in touch with my old friends from
La Chassotte.
I met “Vivienne Marty-Cacciami,
Monique Masraff-Bondolfi” and I am meeting
“Marie Cécile
Corrrea de Azevedo-Tessier d’Orfeuil” next 22 June in
Paris.
We spend a lovely day in Lausanne
all together with our husbands,last January, where the first 2
friends live.
It was marvelous to see them
again and after 40 years .
We met as if we had seen each
other for the last time the month before.
Unfortunately I was told that
one of our friends “Conchita Von Mirbach Shell” had
passed away.
How sad to die so young.
Now I am trying to get in
touch with another friend of La Chassotte, “Roselyne de Chollet”.
She was in my class. Her family
is a famous family from Fribourg.
We will try and get together
for Brussels in 2011.
Thank you for your web site
it really is a lovely idea enabling us to get back to old friends.
By the way I realized that
I arrived at La Chassotte in August 1949 and not 1950
and I left for Ireland in
January 1953, which makes a long stay in Fribourg.

Mais je vais vous faire faire un
saut terrible dans le passé.
Je suis arrivée à
la Chassotte en 1942,
et avec quelques interruptions,
dues notamment à des problèmes de santé,
j'y suis restée jusqu'en
juillet 1949 ( première partie du baccalauréat),
à l'époque cela n'allait pas plus loin.
Nous sommes un petit groupe qui nous rencontrons assez régulièrement
( à Paris).

Quelle lumineuse idée que ce site des anciennes de La Chassotte
dont je n'ai pris
connaissance que hier par une toute aussi ancienne que moi, rencontrée
après 4o longues années...
J'ai été pensionnaire de 1948 à 1953 et puis,
une année, de 1956 à 1957 :
c'est dire que j'ai
retrouvé sur le site bien des noms connus d'élèves
dont j'avais entièrement perdu la trace.
Mon nom est Vivienne
Marty devenue épouse Cacciami par mariage.
Mon mari, médecin
,est à la retraite; nous avons eu 3 enfants qui nous ont
donné 9 petits enfants agés de 8 à 16 ans..
Parmi les anciennes que je rencontre parfois quoique trop rarement

Ma mère à été étudiante chez
la Chassotte dans le 1952-55 si je ne me trompe pas.
Je voudrais vous informer qu'elle est morte il y a cinq mois,
le 19 de decembre 2008.
Elle a aimé boucoup sa vie à la Chassotte et chaque
fois elle parlait de celle vie elle souriait.

I was so pleased to find your
website for old girls.
I was at La Chassotte in 1980
having come all the way from Melbourne, Australia when I was 18.
I had previously attended
another FCJ school in Melbourne called Genazzano Convent (Kew)
I have so many fabulous memories
when I was there.
It is hard to believe it is
30 years since I was there.
Next year there will be a
school reunion for me for Genazzano
but it would have been great
to go and show my two children the beautiful school it was,
when we head over to Europe
in 2010.

Avant tout bravo pour ton site!!!...
Je m'appele Montserrat Massip
et j'ai passé deux années innoubliables de ma vie
á La Chassotte (1961-1963) desquelles je garde des merveilleux
souvenirs .
Malheureusement ça
fait très longtemps que j'avais perdu le contact avec ces
copines avec lesquelles j'ai partagé plein d'aventures...
Ensemble on a ris et on a
pleuré... on a passé de très bons moments
et aussi, quelque fois, d'autres moins bons...
Nous étions si jeunes
à l'époque!!!...
Et c'est pòur ça
que ça a été une belle surprise de découvrir
ce superbe site
par l'intermediare de Rosa
Ma. de la Quintana (Perla) et Ma. Antonia Alcántara, qui
m'ont retrouvée par facebook.
Je suis vénézuelienne mais j'habite depuis 9 ans
en Espagne.
Divorcée depuis très
longtemps, j'ai trois merveilleux grands enfants: une fille de
38 ans et deux garçons de 35 et 31. J'ai aussi une petite
fille de 14 ans.
Je voyage tant que je peux,
car je travaille encore, surtout au Vénézuela où
habitent deux de mes enfants et en France où habite le
plus jeune.
Voilà ce que c'est
la globalisation!!!... Mais malgré la distance qui nous
separe, nous sommes une famille très unie et moi une maman
très fière.
Je te félicite et te remercie pour ton iniciative qui nous
donne l'occasion, aux anciennes Chassottiennes,
de nous rencontrer et de récupéré
des liens qui nous attachent au passé.
Et ça sera avec beaucoup
de plaisir que j'espère pouvoir participer à la

I was at La Chassotte from
'76 - '82 (approx.).
I've been living in the USA
(Florida) since 1993 and have unfortunately lost contact with
so many of my old friends:
Sophie Janssen (can't remember
her married name!), Nathalie von Teufenstein, Lydia Calderon and
Christina Stjernsward.
My mother still lives in Fribourg
and ocassionally sees my favorite teacher of all times: Mademoiselle
Rey!
I'm divorced and have a beautiful
12 year old daughter.

what a surprise to find the site of La Chassotte ! after so many
years, nearly half a century !!
It's a great pleasure.
My name is Yvonne Chaumien, 1960 I lived in Germany and I was
only 1 year at this boarding school.
I left for another boarding school in Strasbourg (F) where I stayed
until baccalauréat.
Then I was for 6 months as
Au Pair in London, after that I attended the Hotel School in Strasbourg.
During my stay in London I
tried to reach Colette Muirhead, but her (french) mother told
me she was in Australia.
I remember some pupils of La Chassotte :

Hello Anne,
I was so surprised yesterday
when browsing on the internet in search of a very old and good
friend
I was a boarder in La Chassotte
from 1950 to 1953.
What a lovely idea to have
build this site for us to get back in the old days.
I was at La Chassotte with
Conchita Von Mirbach Schell, Vivienne Marty, Maria Helena Zamoyska,
Monique Masraff, Béatrice Chauvel,
Marie Cécile Correa
de Azevedo, and others of course.
Our teachers were Mother Joseph,
Sister Xavier, sister Marie Antoinette, Mother Françoise,
sister of Marie Antoinette and others.
In those days we didn’t
have individual rooms, we were in dormitories, pink for the young
ones and white for the older ones.
I have 4 children and ten
grand children, ranging from 9 to 25.
I am divorced from the father
of my children and remarried with a lovely man, father of 5.
We live in QATAR and hope
to get back to France in a year or so.
I met Vivi in Paris 40 years
ago, and kept in touch with Marie Cécile for a few years
as she was settled in Paris,
where she still is, from what
I gathered looking up the telephone directory.
I know that Conchita von Mirbach
Schell and her sister had an Irish grandmother.
I had met her there moons
ago as I was studying in Dublin at the time.
I also had the pleasure of
meeting with Monique Masraff in Paris in the 60’s but have
now, unfortunately,
lost track of all those lovely
friends I would love to meet up again with.
I suppose as one begins to
age memories of the past crop up and may dawn on us to make us
slightly nostalgic.
Anyway thanks a lot for the
interesting site enabling one and all to maybe get back in touch

Je viens de découvrir le site de la Chassotte et je me
fais un plaisir
de te dire que je suis une
ancienne élève de ce lycée, années
1962-1969.
Je m'appelle Carole Descloux
Rossel (anciennement González car j'avais épousé
un mexicain dont j'ai eu une fille,
Victoria, qui actuellement
a 22 ans et est étudiante en droit). Je vis à México
depuis 19 ans.
J'ai retrouvé avec
plaisir dans ton site d'anciennes copines et je vais m'empresser
de leur écrire.
Je suis divorcée depuis 7 ans et bien que biologiste (license
en biologie à l'université de Bâle),
j'ai un bureau d'immobilier
depuis 15 ans.
Je retourne en Suisse deux fois par année, où j'y
ai encore ma mère et ma soeur Valérie,
qui a également été

La Chassotte.
I was in that photo taken of the school students in 1963.
My name is Elizabeth Stoney,{Frost} and I live in Melbourne,Australia.
I have very happy memories
of my days at the school.
Your website has brought it

I loved seeing the photos

I have been browsing the site again! It is superbly done. It just
takes me back to the late 50s!
I met up with Mary
Haldun (nee Ward) in Edinburgh( a real mini reunion!) in May last
year (not long after the Fribourg reunion,
which I was not
able to attend, unfortunately), and we had a great time and she
told me all about the Reunion, only wish I'd been there.
I'm still in touch
with Deirdre Cussen (Mrs Kingston), Maureen (Monkey) Dixon (Mrs
Guthrie Harrison) who is living in Dorset
and Marie-Louise
(Ise) Holzapfel (Frau Holzapfel-Rufenacht) the latter two who
were my good friends in CS III.
If anyone else from
1957/8 remembers me I would be delighted if they would e-mail
me.
I am at the moment
living on the Isle of Wight but could be returning to the mainland
(or the North Island as they call it here!) later this year.
I am involved with
the local archaeology (mostly Roman), practically, (yes I do 'digs)'
and academically, which is quite time consuming, but most interesting.
I was in Cherbourg
recently and mentally thanked La C for my fluency in French, not
one person spoke back to me in English,
so my accent must
have been good!
I look forward to
hearing about the Mallorca Mini-Reunion later this year.

Hi Anne,
I was looking to see if La Chassotte had a website and found you.
What a
wonderful and giving thing you have done creating these pages.
They
certainly brought warm thoughts to my heart. I am one of the anciennes,
Cassandra Gordon-Harris (Sandy Gordon). I was in school from 1961-63
(I
think, maybe it was 60-62!) no matter! I was American but came
from
Ecuador. I wanted to be an artist but the sisters told me I had
no talent!
Rebellious to the core I went ahead and did it anyway! I have
been a
professional artist for 20 years and a teaching artist for 10!
What a riot!

Si ma mémoire est bonne, j'ai fréquenté la
Chassotte de 1964 à 1968 en
tant que demi-pensionnaire. J'ai connu Truchai (je me souviens
encore de 2
mots en thaïlandais!), Sedef Ilkan, Isabelle Darbellay, Bérengère
de Nattes,
Jacqueline Campiche, Danielle King, Koutchou, Bénédicte
Normand,
Marie-Thérèse de Rémy et d'autres dont le
nom ne me revient pas. Je me
souviens de mère Odile, Madame Joye, Monsieur Dragutinovitch,
Mademoiselle
Chesne et Madame Garrigoux. J'étais voisine de Solange
de Meyer à
Bourguillon. Pour celles qui ont connu ma mère (libraire)
elle a 88 ans et vit en Picardie.
Aujourd'hui je vis à Montréal, au Québec,
au Canada. J'ai un fils dans la
vingtaine et mon mari, que j'ai rencontré à l'université
de Fribourg, a
les 2 nationalités (française et canadienne).
Comme il est difficile de parler de soi, je suis aujourd'hui telle
qu'on
me présente officiellement :

depuis plus de 20 ans.
Elle est la cofondatrice du Centre bilingue de Focusing de
Montréal et en tant que coordonnatrice certifiée
par le Focusing Institute

formateur en Focusing. Elle a présenté également
des ateliers sur la «
toile de fond », les rêves, l'enfant intérieur
et le critique intérieur en
France et en Belgique. Plus récemment, en tant que praticienne
EMDR, elle
trouve intéressant de pouvoir associer le Focusing et l'EMDR

cadeaux d'anniversaire,
mes amies m'avaient offert une Bible (je pars en Terre Sainte
dans
quelques jours) et une autre fois, un « Dictionnaire des
symboles » que
j'ai toujours et qui m'a servi à explorer les rêves
dans ma vie
quotidienne et en thérapie (même si aujourd'hui,
j'explore davantage le
ressenti global du rêve que le langage des symboles).
Je joins en attaché une photo un peu floue mais si on la
réduit un peu, ça va.
Au plaisir de poursuivre ces échanges à travers
le temps...

Mon Dieu, c'est le
moindre que l'on puisse dire en évoquant la Chassotte,
nous étions 3 garçons externes, Patrice Brasey,
Eric Ranaivoson, et moi,
Christian Gouteron, au début seulement car après
d'autres nous ont
rejoints, j'y suis rentré à l'age de 12 ans en 6ème
et suis parti pour
d'autres études en fin de 3ème ce devait dans les
années 1976-1979 , mes
soeurs Odile et Chantal ont fréquentées l'établissement
en qualité
d'internes. J'ai parfois l'occasion de passer devant les murs....
les
souvenirs jaillissent en désordre, et se bousculent, j'ai
vraiment passé
de superbes années...mes premiers émois amoureux,
les copains et des profs
géniaux..Mlle Portman, Soeur Clair, même la soeur
qui nous donnait des
cours de ménages...pour les garçons aussi.

surtout après un bref passage de..prospection, il y a juste
2 ans, en quête
de
très bons souvenirs
quelle tristesse de revoir le bâtiment! squatté maintenant
par des réfugiés
politiques...la cuisine dans les classes...l'abandon
le parc traversé par l'autoroute...
les soeurs se battaient pour conserver le site, ..les superbes
arbres..uniques
en suisse
à l'époque, soeur Odile était la directrice
j'y suis restée pendant 5 ans...il fallait que je termine
mes études en
Belgique,
afin que mon diplôme soit homologué
et j'étais la seule petite belge sur toutes les nationalités
bien des choses se sont passées maintenant...
je suis grand-mère de 2 petites filles, de papa italien
je dois me trouver sur la photo de fin d'anné de 1965....
que de souvenirs...dans ma classe, j'avais: isabel labayen (espagnol)
et sa

Je viens de découvrir
votre site sur La Chassotte école ou j'ai moi-même
étudier, il y a quelques années à l'époque
ou l'école est devenue mixte,
mais je la connaissais déjà, car mes soeurs y ont
étudié. Je peu dire que
j'ai connu les derniers feu de cet établissement vers 1988
puis lors de sa
fermeture définitive en 1993. Les noms de certains professeurs
dont vous
parlez me son connu (Mmes Rey, Chenez, Portmann, Tuck, Morard,
Sr Claire,
puis d'autres encore) une grandes parties de ces personnes sont
encore en
vie. Les batîments quant à eux témoigne malgré
leur état de ce passer ci
glorieux. Une grande parti est laissé à l'abandon,
la chapelle funéraire a
été vidé (une demande des soeurs semble-t-il).

d'Albeuve
pendant les étés 1975 à 1977, j'étais
animatrice.
Il y avait des enfants de tous pays qui passaient quelques temps
là pour
souvent éviter la guerre de leur pays.
J'y suis restée aussi enfant en 1968 et mes sours comme
animatrices
(Geneviève, Monique et marie-Andrée) le centre était
dirigé par Sour Claire.
Je cherche à savoir ce que sont devenus ces enfants, maintenant
adultes.

Hi to everyone who remembers me from 1962 to 1965 my name is VIVIEN
JORDAN
(used to live in East Africa) and would just like to start by
saying a
BIG THANK YOU to Anne for her website. I have spent many hours
searching!!! Then
my daughter pays me a visit and it took her 2secs!!!
I have two children (well I think they still are!!) daughter 30
and son 27.
I live in Lincolnshire UK with kitten and large garden to now
look after!
It has been so nice to see everyone again even though it has only
be to read
all your letters and look at old photos. As the names come up
the memory
gets better!!! I hope that there is someone that does remember

Because of the distance from Switzerland to Africa I used to stay
at the school over
the long holidays or went on vacations. Wengen being one of them

l'année de mon Bac.
J'ai une entreprise de frêt avec mon ex-mari...
je suis Liliane Grimm je suis sur ta photo tout en haut à
droite
je suis d'origine congolaise.la jeune fille noire avec les lunettes.
J'ai passé mon bac avec Alexandra Boskov et Paola Schlaefli
en 1979.

Il y avait peu de personne de couleur à la chassotte...Alors
beaucoup de personnes se souviendront surement de liliane.
Je vis entre la RDC et la Suisse. J'ai deux garçons de

Moved to North Carolina but going back to Miami where I will stay

settle down again there.
My sisters and cousins were at La Chassotte for two years........We

called "les petites moutons" Our coats looked like moutons.

She lives in El Salvador, has 4 children ages 27 to 20.
We were just in March at her first son Carlos' wedding, we had
a great time.

She lives also in El Salvador, never married but very happy and
such a

She lives in El Salvador, has three children. Sofia the oldest
married a
very handsome young man from Guatemala two years ago.

musées,d'ailleur je suis une pièce de musée...une
momie!!! Mme.Joye: la
literature et ses jumeux. Famille Dougoud: la gymnastique et les
sports
d'hiver. M.Gromont: la geographie. C'est à cause de lui
que j'adore un voyage.
Mlle Semadeni: ,l'écriture gothique et sa gentillesse.

d'avion, aeroport ,vavances! Il y a beaucoup de noms qu'y m'échappent,
mais je n'oubliéré jamais la Chassotte, les classes,
la salle d'étude, la
chapelle,la salle à manger,les dortoires,le rosier, bleu,
braun, rose,la
consolata. Lac Noir,les excursions,le minigolf à coté
de l'école au
printems.Wengen (pour celles qui restaient en vacances) les chocolats
le
régime tous les lundis... la St Nicolas,la kermesse. Les
"copines",
hélas ! c'étais la meilleure des choses! Toutes
differentes,differents
pays,langues, religions, mais ensemble on étais la même
chose: on s'est
amusés on a ri, on a pleué, crié, parlé,
joué,bavarde, causé,chipe des
pommes au jardin, et tricher aux éxamens,c'était
formidable,on était toutes
des amies pour toujour. Tout ce là reste dans la memoire
à travers les ans,
le temp, la vie pour toujour !!! Merci bien Anne. Excuse mon français
mes fautes d'orthographe,mais ça fais quarant ans que je

Bonjour Anne
I am an Ancienne from 1957-1958 and I have just spent a wonderful
'memory lane' time on the website. I was only alerted to it today
by Maureen (Monkey) Dixon (now Mrs Guthrie Harrrison) when we
having a Christmas 'catch up' phone call and her husband had found
the site yesterday by accident! It was terrific reading everyone's
mail especially from those from my time such as Susi Borlase,
Sarah Midgely and Supinda (Supi) Chakrabandu and of course MarieLouise
(Ise) Holzapfel with whom I keep occasionally in touch. Sarah
Midgely was the first pupil I met as her parents kindly drove
me with her across France to la Chassotte what a way to begin
what was to become a very happy association with the school.
I went on to qualify as a barrister and practiced in England;
but now choose not to work in the law anymore, I used to specialise
in crime, archaeology and ecclesiastical law! I also qualified
in archaeology specialising in the Roman period and still do field
work (i.e. 'Digs'!) from time to time in the UK. I am currently
living on the Isle of Wight and am the Administrator/Secretary
for the Isle of Wight Symphony Orchestra.
I did get married, but am now no longer, but regretfully have
no children.
The spare time that I have I spend in travelling around the world
as much as I can.
I will be looking forward to the 2007 Reunion.
I came across the old magazines and photos the other day whilst
having a clearout, the usual backdrops of Lac Noir and the school
! I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me from the 1959
days!

Dear Anne,
I’ve just discovered this site
through a former student of LaChassotte. I’m myself a former
teacher of La Chassotte. My name is Gerda Tuck Comazzi . I started
teaching at La Chassotte in September 1971 while Mère Odile
was the Principal.I came from New York but I’m originally
from Haïti.
I taught French and English. I remember
a lot of my pupils in Cours Supplémentaire learning French
and also some pupils from Fribourg.They were from all over the
world.
I still live in Fribourg and teaching
at the University but before I was among the teachers who took
over La Chassotte when the sisters left. We had named the school,Ecole
René Descartes until last year when the school closed down.
However, there is another school in Belfaux called Le Château
du Bois which was also founded by a former student of La Chassotte,
originated from Fribourg, her name is Monique Therrapon Meyer.
The school is very successful. It’s the only private school
of that kind in Fribourg now. They prepare for the French Bac
and the Swiss Maturité. There are about 80 pupils.
Another good friend of mine who was
also a teacher at La Chassotte is Monique Rey. She is French,
Monique Rey is still living in Fribourg and teaching in a large
public College called ECDD. She is also the president of Alliance
Française of Fribourg. I have told her about your site
too.
Myself, I’m looking for a former
student called 'Laura Delgado de Marrotta'. She is from Venezuela.
I am her son’s godmother. I lost
track of her since two years.
Maybe you could help me find her.

trekking in Grindelwald and had this great desire to revisit old
haunts and
see if I could find La Chassotte but directory enquiries could
not help me
and had to give up the idea until I asked the magical Google.
Well done on

I cannot remember exactly when I was at school in La Chassotte
but think
that it was 1952 -53. I (born 1940) came with my older sister

Anne, what a wonderful surprise
to discover your web site. I just happened
to be thinking about La Chassotte the other night and decided
to google it.
I was so shocked to find all these emails from previous internes
and
externes, many that I recall, but can't put a face to! Thank you
so much for putting
the site together. It has brought back many memories. I was at
La
Chassotte from 1967-69 from cours supplementaire 1-3 as an externe.
I commuted every day from Berne with Irene Darbelay and Veronique.
I am glad to hear Chantal from Lebanon is fine.
I remember riding the train with her also. I'm
afraid my French is really bad now, due to lack of use. I can
at least still read it.
I've lost touch with Suda Assavabhokhin, Haruko Kinase, Kumiko
Nakao,
Margaret Duff, and many others over the years. Debra Dosch and

Je viens juste de faire connaissance avec votre site tout à
fait par
hasard. En rentrant chez moi, à Fribourg, j'ai rencontré
Soeur Lorenza qui
sortait avec ma voisine de palier, Mme Jordan. Elle m'a parlé
de votre site
et de la rencontre qui a eu lieu à Paris au printemps.
Je n'étais pas au
courant. Votre site est super et c'est sympa de retrouver d'anciens
noms
même si on ne peut plus remettre un visage sur les prénoms
!
Je suis une ancienne éléve de La Chassote de 1963
(ou 1962, je ne sais
plus) jusqu'en 1972, année du bac (1971 la première
fois !, raté pour peu).
En 1971, nous étions une classe de 5 ou 7 élèves
dont Anna Dermosonoglu,
Irène Darvellay, Mary Ann Clarke, et je ne sais plus. L'année
d'après, je
me suis retrouvée dans la classe d'Anne Giovannini, Florence
Nouveau, etc.
Je m'appelle Catherine Bloch; j'habite toujours à
Fribourg
où je travaille à la Commune de Fribourg. J'ai un
fils né en 1974, qui a aussi été à
La Chassotte (1 ou 2 ans du temps de
Soeur Claire et avant que l'école ne change de propriétaire)
et serai
grand-mère tout prochainement au début octobre.
Cela me ferait plaisir de participer à la prochaine réunion
d'anciennes
"chassottiennes" car c'est là que j'ai passé
les meilleures années
d'école. Mais hélàs je n'ai plus de contact
avec mes anciennes camarades de
classe ! Je vois par contre de temps en temps Mlle Chesnes
lorsqu'ellerevient faire une visite à ma voisine, Mme Jordan
que j'ai
également eu comme prof de dessin.
Alors j'attends avec impatience des nouvelles d'anciennes.

passent. J'ai passé mon bac
en 1959 à la Chassotte et y étais comme externe
dès la 6e, soit dès 1953.
Dans ma volée, Monika Scholl-Latour, Codie Courtois, Mylène
Studer, Edith
(F) et Michelle (/B) (je ne sais plus leur nom), Maria Giovannini
(soeur de
Thérèse que j'ai vue il y a 2 semaines et qui m'a
parlé du site). Je me
souviens aussi d' Anne-Marie Roux qui était en 2e et bien
d'autres encore...
Suis aujourd'hui mère de 3 enfants, grand-mêre de
3 petits irrésistibles,
vit à Genève avec mon époux Alain Nicollier

Je ne vous connais malheureusement pas mais je voudrais vous féliciter
pour
votre initiative et vous dire à quel point cela fait chaud
au coeur de
retrouver les liens qui nous attachent au passé. Je suis
d'origine
iranienne et je m'appelle Mehkameh Ghaemmaghami. J'ai été
pensionnaire à La
Chassotte de 1971 à 1974, trois merveilleuses années
remplies de
magnifiques souvenirs. Cela fait 30 ans que je vis à Lyon
en France, je
suis psychologue, pas de mari ni enfant et je reste en contact
avec une
amie suisse : Laurence Lachat (externe), grâce à
laquelle j'ai pu
rencontrer il y a 4 ans d'autres copines suisses qui vivent toujours
à
Fribourg (Martine, Monique, Claire, Mouna, Rabia et sa soeur,
etc.).
J'aurai tellement aimé avoir des nouvelles des internes
de cette période :
Catherine de Labry, Maylis de la Grandière, Stella, ma
soeur thaïlandaise
que j'ai perdu de vue : Tam. Isabelle Abreu, Nilgoun et Roya (les

amies iraniennes) et beaucoup d'autres dont j'ai oublié

Hi Anne,
I attended La Chassotte for only one year, 1963-1964. Helen Mulroney,
a family friend, attended that year also. My husband, two sons
and I now
live in Middleton, (Madison) Wisconsin. Helen and I both still
have our
family summer homes in Montana. It is always wonderful to see
her there
when our times coincide.
What a flood of memories returned when looking at your website!

to

Beatles in 1963 and brought a record back from England. How sweet
she was
to do that! I have many wonderful memories of the generosity and
kindness
of friends who made the year fun for me.
The reunion sounds exciting, I will certainly try to attend if

Bonjour Anne,
C'est tout à fait par hasard que j'ai aujourd'hui découvert
le site que tu
as créé. Quelle belle surprise et que de souvenirs
me sont soudainement
venus à l'esprit. J'étais pensionnaire à
la Chassotte de 1960 à 1963 et mon
nom est Martine Lefèbvre (Lefèbvre-Cappon à
présent). Durant mes trois
années à la Chassotte, j'étais dans la même
classe que Penny Brown, Arlette
Truffert (ma meilleure amie à l'époque) Christine
Poupon, Annabelle La
Badessa, Rosa Maria Quintana, Iris Deville; Paz Massieu était
notre préfet.
C'est avec beaucoup de regrets que j'apprends que La Chassotte
a été
fermée, mais l'esprit de l'école continuera avec
le site, la réunion
prochaine et peut-être celles à venir. Je ne pourrai
pas assister à cette
réunion, mais j'y serai en pensée.
Quelques nouvelles personnelles: je vis au Canada depuis 1972
après avoir
rencontré mon mari (qui lui est canadien) à Paris.
J'ai une fille de 28 ans
et un fils de 24 ans et j'ai opté pour une carrière
dans l'enseignement. Je
viens assez fréquement en Europe et je serai enchantée
de rencontrer
certaines chassottiennes, si l'opportunité se présente.

Me connecter à ce site est pour moi comme un plongeon dans
le passé, aux sources
de ce qui m'a fait découvrir ma vocation d'éducatrice
(et un Bac en prime...)!
J'étais interne en Seconde, Première et Terminale,
dans la classe d'Ane Valverde
qui m'a mise au courant de cette super initiative, et avec laquelle
je suis
restée en correspondance pendant ces... 20 ans depuis notre
bac!
Je suis maintenant à Rome, religieuse dominicaine, j'enseigne
musique et
catéchèse dans notre école française
à Rome, accompagnée du constant souvenir de
la Chassotte, et en particulier de Sr Claire. Je serais ravie

Thank you for your great job.
My name is Antoinette Vogel Grellet, from Bregenz, Lake
of Konstance in Austria.
I spent just one year at La Chasotte , 1967/68 in the same class
as Paola Castiglioni.
It was a very special year for me as my Father french, my Mother
austrian , we
lived in austria, where the kids just learned german at school.
But after this year of french I went back to Austria and started
to work at
my fathers office in Switzerland next to Bregenz. As soon as possible
I
left home and went for 8 months to England Yorkshire!! After this
great time
I desided to start a job in tourisme, at different places in the
Tourist
Office, Hotel reception and Travel Agent international. I. m glad
to say, I
have seen the beauty of the world. Since 15 years I' m married
here at
Lustenau on the Rhein next to Switzerland and I enjoy my life.
On the 01. of Jan 05 after 32 years in Business Travel Agent I
stopped
working and now I'm free and ready for the second part of life
with my husband!
At the moment I cant tell you if I will join you at Paris but
we will see!

Dear Anne,
How wonderful to hear from you so soon. Thank you
so much. I sure remembered you when I saw your maiden
name . Huer had seemed unfamiliar. Here is a brief
resume; after school I went to Thailand with my father
where we spent 5 years and during which I had the
pleasure of meeting with Truchai. Returned to Turkey ,
got married , divorced and married again in 1982 to my
present husband, also a diplomat like my father.
Served in various countries, retired in 2002 (last
posting was in London) came directly to the US to
place our son in college(he is a junior at U. in
Pennsylvania). Being retired and our son being here
too, we spend 6 to 7 months a year here in the US and
the rest in Istanbul. Having been posted in Houston
from 1984 to 1989 we chose to spend time here where we
have quite a number of friends. While in London , I
was contacted (by phone) by Misa Farage, to my
greatest delight,having traced me through a common
friend of her brother's and mine, and thanks
to her I came to learn about our school's website.
But being busy here and there during our first year in the US
,
I could not communicate for a while and lost both
Ann's and Misa's e-mail adresses. They have gone ,
disappeared from the memory. How I sure dont know.
Dear Anne, I shall be in the US in April ,would
love to make it to Paris but am not sure yet. Would
have been so much closer from Istanbul. I'll keep you posted.
I'll write to Ann now to say hello and ask for

Tout d'abord BRAVO pour le site internet qui nous permet de nous
retrouver
et de penser aux bons moments que nous avons toutes passés
ensemble!
Souvenirs, souvenirs...
Alors que je venais de tomber sur un article où il était
question de
plusieurs sites permettant de retrouver des élèves
ayant fréquenté le même
établissement scolaire, je me suis tombée (après
10 ans!) en Allemagne sur
une ancienne "chassottienne" (Adelheid) qui m'a parlé
du site de laChassotte!!!
Mes parents habitant toujours Fribourg je passe souvent devant
la
Chassotte... quelle désolation! J'ai montré l'école
à mes trois filles mais
nous étions ensuite toutes sous le choc. La propriété
est pratiquement abandonnée ...
J'aurai tant aimé venir à Paris pour notre première
rencontre... mais
j'attends un / une petite quatrième pour... le 15 avril
donc
malheureusement ça sera difficile!
J'ai toujours des contacts avec toute la tribu Spiess (Mary et
Héléna en
particulier), Isabel de Teufenstein, Roselyne Sanne (de Riedmatten),
Valérie
Thinet (Masurel) Bastienne Wellensiek, Mercedes van Heesewijk
(Dieguez) et
Bénédicte Raemy (Butty) dont la mère a l'Institut
de la Gruyère.
Ma soeur Christine Mermod (de Skowronski) habite également
en Suisse
pourquoi ne pas faire une prochaine réunion en Suisse?

I have had a wonderful time reading all the messages in the LES
ANCIENNES
Message Box. I am so happy to have found news about Pia Hadatoglu
via a
letter of her sister in law Nayla. I am one of the 4 SPIES sisters
and was
in LA CHASSOTTE from 1978 to 1983. I still have contact with most
of the
"German Group" but also with Caroline CHARMOLUE, who
lives in Bordeaux. I
will try to contact as many anciennes as possible for the REUNION
in Paris
on April 13th.

It was pure luck that I found your page on the internet. - I was
at La
Chassotte from 1953 to 1955 and again in 1959. I remember this
time
as among the happiest years in my life. Perhaps you will enjoy

Have just looked up the La Chassotte web-site. Thank you so much,
it is fantastic.
I was a weekly boarder between 1978-82,
and can remember Soeurs Claire,
Elisabeth, Dominique, Josephine,Gonzales and Anna-Maria very well.

fun idea. I was in La Cassotte from 75 to 82.seven very good years.
Just
recently I met a girl (Lisi Witzleben) I hadn`t met for over 20
year and it
brought it all back. As I am the eldest of 4 sisters (Mary, Anty,

who all spent many years in La Chassotte we still talk about it
sometimes,

and am delighted to
read names and faces appear in my mind.
I was at La Chassotte
from 1963 to 1970, not as a student but as an FCJ sister.
My name is Veronika
and I used to "mind Dortoir bleu!".
One of the students,
Helen Huemoeller is currently visiting me in Manila.
I have been in the
Philippines for the last 16 years and am working
for the moment with
a group of women in Manila.
A reunion in Europe
next year would be great - I certainly would be there.
I shall have a Sabbatical
from August this year till August 2005 and I'll be in Munich.
It would be great to

Un tout grand merci pour ce précieux site. C'est Brigitte
de Boccard qui
m'en a parlé il y a deux jours et quel bonheur de lire
tous ces messages,
de retrouver tant de noms connus évocateurs de tant de
bons souvenirs.
J'étais à la Chassotte de 1967 à 1970. J'ai
eu la chance de passer ces 3
années avec une équipe sympathique et soudée.
L'année du bac, nous avions même eu des félicitations
toutes particulières
pour notre bonne tenue etc.. et horreur, le jour de la lecture
des notes,
une des religieuses, attirée par le bruit dans notre classe,
nous trouve
toutes à califpurchon sur nos chaises retournées
à sauter en faisant une
ronde!!! Heureusement nous avions des religieuses sympa et ouvertes.
J'ai gardé un très beau souvenir de ces années
passées à la Chassotte. J'ai
gardé le contact avec certaines amies mais aussi très
souvent pensé à
toutes les autres, à nos enseignants et aux soeurs. J'ai
eu des nouvelles
de certaines tout à fait par hasard comme Mlle Chesnes
croisée à Fribourg
qui m'en a donné d'Evelyne sa nièce, ou une connaissance
libanaise qui m'en
a donné de Misa et de Salma Hatem. Hélas, à
cause de la guerre au Liban,
j'ai aussi perdu la trace d'autres amies avec qui je correspondais
régulièrement comme par exemple Pilar Labayen que
j'essaie de retrouver par
tous les moyens.
Je regrette chère Anne de ne pas te situer mais si j'ai
oublié certains
noms je pense qu'en voyant des photos j'en reconnaitrai plusieurs.
A l'époque je n'étais que libanaise puisque les
enfants
de suissesses n'avaient pas droit à la nationalité
Suisse. Après les années
Chassotte, je suis rentrée au Liban, me suis mariée
en 74 et j'ai 2 filles
de 28 et 25 ans. A cause de la guerre et comme beaucoup de libanais,
j'ai
eu une vie assez agitée. Il serait trop long d'en donner
tous les détails.
En 1987, tout était planifié pour que je vienne
participer au grand
rassemblement des anciennes et un événement grave
imprévu m'a obligée à
tout annuler. Je comptais sur cette rencontre pour revoir des
amies.
En 1988 je suis venue en Suisse et j'ai été rejointe
par mon mari en 1991.
J'ai donc retrouvé la Chassotte et je passe devant tous
les lundis soir en
allant à mon cours de peinture.
Je vis à Marly, dans le Canton de Fribourg, où je
travaille. Une des mes
filles est à Chavannes et l'autre à Washington.
J'ai encore régulièrement des contacts avec Brigitte
De Boccard et
Véronique Torionne et j'ai revu Solange De Meyer et Marie-Agnès
Menier.
Mais j'aimerais retrouver Jean Duff , Salma qui était si
drôle (désolée si
j'écorche certains noms), toutes les autres de ma classe
: Pilar,
Bénédicte, Isabelle, Frédérique, Evelyne,
Solange, Sylvie, Pimchand.
Je n'arrive pas à retrouver la seule photo que j'ai, une
photo de fin
d'année, mais dès que je l'aurai je la mettrai sur
le site.

I was "sailing" again in the web and reading all the
letters from the
"Anciennes" and I found a letter from Judy Hughes, now
Leech, from Ohio,
Nebraska, she saids she was at la Chassotte just at the same time
my sister
Maritza and I were there,(1952-54) but she didn't write her e-mail.
I don't know if she remembers us. I am going to look at the potos
in the
magazines ...perhaps we will remember each other...but at least
there is
someone form that time !!! There is also an interview with Supinda
Chakrabandhu....we were in the same class....both of us.... ,
but there is
no adress. I love reading the "anciennes" letters...even
if they were in
the school many years after...there is a bond between all the
Chassottiennes..n'est ce pas?

Dear Anne,
I have just had the best time looking through the photos on your
website and
reading all the e-mails. Thanks so much for putting it together.
It's a
blast. My name is Molly Boylan and my sister Alma and I were at
La Chassotte in 1967-68.
It was only one year but it was an amazing year. Mere Dorothée
was the head of the
school. Sr. Madeleine is the teacher I remember the best but I
also
remember Sr. Luke, Sr. Cecilia, Mere Odile, Sr. Marguerite Marie.
We were there with Mita and Gina Bejasa, Paola Castiglioni, Mary
Jo Calderon, Jean Duff, Diana
de Toth, Gloria Wu and Angela (oh no, I forget Angela's last name!).
I also
remember Magali Arcentales and I recognized lots of the names
on her list
Isabel and Pilar Labayen, Sarah Trench, Mary Poltera, Jasmine
from Greece,
Maria Fernanda from Colombia (I think she was the one who made
caricature
drawings of everyone?) Haruko from Japan, Nora Ley, Jeannette
from the
Congo. I'd forgotten them until I found your website!
The only person from those days that I am still in touch with
is my great
friend, Paola Castiglioni. I saw her last May in Tuscany and we
had a
wonderful visit. I know that Paola has also stayed in touch with
Gilda and
Marcela Minaya and with Maria Theresa Serrano. It was great to
see the 1987
photo of Diana de Toth. I wonder how she is doing now. I also
remember
Frédérique Charmoz and her friend who was an "externe"
(Iréne?). I was an
impressionable fourteen year old American girl and I remember
thinking that
those two were very hip and cool.
I have lived in New York City for the past twenty years. I write
for the
children's television show, "Sesame Street" and I also
work in the
international department of Sesame Workshop as a story advisor
for our
overseas productions so I travel to Europe pretty regularly.
Thanks again for setting up this great website. I'd love to hear
from
anyone who was there during my year.

Some time ago I wrote
you , telling you what a nice surprise it was for me to find the
Chassotte's web page!! My sister Maritza and I were in the school
for two years , from 1952 to 1954, then we went to Saint George's
School at Broadstairs for another year. Since then we have not
had any information about any of our classmates....I would like
so much to know anything about some of the friends that stay in
my memory like Maureen Dickson...Antoinette Payot, Dominique et
Anne Marie Lambert, Michelle Goelding, Shadia, Supinda Chakrabandhu,
Mary Coolidge, Catherine Georges, Rosario and Yolanda Rojas, Rosario
y Yolanda Santimone, Marita et Concha von Mirbach Schell ,Vivi
Marty, Mariaelena Zamoyska , Cecile de Azevedo, HirokoHagiwara,
Miryam Ilan ( I remember her baptism and First Holy Communion),
Michelle Masraff, Alma..Kamala Krishnaswani.etc etc, sometimes
i remember their names and faces....but what I remember best are
the happy times we had at la Chassotte. . I remember Tante jeanne,
Mere Odile, Mademoiselle Betty Watter...I remember the holidays,
the Ventes de charite, the contests between les Maisons de sainte
Catherine et sainte Philomene.... ( we belonged to sainte catherine!!!)
I was very young then , just 9 to eleven years old, and I always
have very deep feelings when I remember those days. I would be
so happy if I could have any news about any one that can remember
the two Bakula girls. Before we left the school we left a Saint
Rosa de Lima image, that was in the study room in the first floor.
Our names were engraved on a piece of metal at the bottom of the
statue.
I thank you very much for having the idea of creating a Web page,
because it has made possible the dream of having perhaps the possibility
to contact some one or that some one remembers us. I haven't yet
grand children, my daughter got married last month...so I will
have lots of patience. Her husband and her are planning to go
to Europe, France or Italy for postgraduate studies.... I would
like her to visit her mother's school or perhaps meet some of
her friends. Thank you again for giving me this opportunity.

Dear Anne,
Sorry for keeping you
waiting this long but it wasn't that easy getting hold of each
of us..... So far, here in Bangkok, we are O.K. if all the "Chassottiennes"are
interested to have a get-together in our country. Reservation
at hotels in various places will not be much a problem, when planned
in advance, since some of us own hotels and we can make other
arrangements as for trips around Bangkok or outside of Bangkok
- it all depends how many days you would like to spend your holiday
in Thailand. In case that there's more options for a European
country, that's fine ! I guess you will be hearing individually,
then.

I don't believe this,
by pure chance I hit this website just to find so many good memories.
I was at La Chassotte from 1974 until 1980 and I loved every minute
of it. I live in Hong Kong now and am married since 16 years.
We have 5 children of whom 2 are in boarding school themself now.
I insisted they go to Boarding School because I had such good
memories from it. I do have many good memories and remember les
Teufenstein, (Caroline, Nathalie, et Isabelle, qui n'est venue
qu'apres j'ai quitté.) Marie Christine Joris, Baron Penningswhose
message you have on the board, Nicole Sayek, Paola Schaeffer.I
would love to see you all again. Two years ago I saw les espagnoles
(Paloma Domecq, Bea de la Mora et Magdalena d'Aquilar)
I have of course still contact with my cousins Adelheid Waldburg
(now Gemmingen) and Elisabeth Westfalen, (now Hohenberg) and loose
contact with the Spies girls.
I think a Reunion is
a great idea but I think it should be in Fribourg, because it
would be great to see the city again as well, even have an excursion

Ca me fait tellement plaisir de lire toutes ces lettres! merci
a tout le monde qui prend le temps d'ecrire!
quand a moi, j'habite dans le Utah (USA) dans la campagne avec
mes alpacas, chevaux, chats et ma chienne olga. j'ai beaucoup
de tres bons souvenirs de la chassotte et je me rends compte quelle
chance on a eu d'avoir cette experience. Kathy et moi parlons
souvent de combien certaines personnes ont influencees nos vies!
Mlle. Portmann est toujours une des premieres qui vient en tete.....Mlle.
Scmidt..qui etait toujours mon hero!.. mais il y en avait beaucoup
d'autres..et les soeures qui etaient si patientes et bonnes...(on
etait toujours des filles tres energiques!)
j'aimerai beaucoup avoir des nouvelles de vous toutes!( surtout
de ma classe de terribles!..sasha, helena spies, audrey brohy,

Mon nom est Marthe Pérez- Emmenegger. J'ai enseigné
à la Chassotte de 1971 à
1979, dans la classe préparatoire et en 6e. Avec joie,
j'ai trouvé dans le
courrier des nouvelles d'une ancienne élève Lara
Cook. C'est avec plaisir
que je recevrais des nouvelles d'autres anciennes élèves
en particulier de
Suzan et Nazan Jagupyan qui venaient de Turquie et chez qui ,j'avais
passé

Dear Anne,
My name is Flore Blancpain,
and I join this already big group of ex Chassottiennes to thank
you upon your initiative and efforts in bringing us together again.
It is my father who surfing on the net from Brazil a few days
ago found your site and indicated that my name showed up related
to La Chassotte. Curiosity never killed the cat, so immediately
I went to have a look, and ohh what a great surprise. I read through
the pages with great pleasure, finding names and addresses of
friends long not heard of. I will soon write to some of them,
but priority to you and your site, and so I make my email address
available to all readers that might remember me.
My stay at La Chassotte was
brief, from 79 to 81, and amongst “Les petites”. After
I went to Venezuela, passed a French baccalauréat, then
back to Geneva studying Sciences Po. I lived there and worked
in private banking for a few years, until 99 when I joined the
CICR (International Committee of the Red Cross). Since then I
had missions in Peru, Rwanda and Eritrea, and am now in Naltchik,
Northern Caucasus, where I should be at least for a year.

J'étais à la
Chassotte de 1979 à 1986, si mes souvenirs sont corrects
et
j'ai retrouvé avec grand plaisir les coordonnées
d'anciennes de mon 'cru'.
Je vis depuis 1991 à Bruxelles, et après 10 ans
de mariage, j'ai divorcé et
suis redevenue célibataire, en compagnie de mes 2 enfants
(adorables,
biensûr) de 8 et 6 ans.
Je suis toujours en contact avec Carotte (qui n'aime plus trop
qu'on
l'appelle comme ça!), de Helena, et peut-être bientot
avec d'autres
anciennes qui me liront! Merci encore Ann pour cette initiative!!
Ci-joint une photo que j'ai sur mon pc; je fais une drôle
de tête mais soit!

Hello Anne,
I could not believe it when
I found your site, playing on the computer, it brought back all
kinds of good memories.
A reunion of the Chassottiennes
is a great idea!
I was at 'La Chassotte' 1962
and 1963 , my name at the time was Claire-Lise Coeudevez
(from La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland)
but nicknamed "Trudy"
by Sabine Von der Weid! I don't have any contact with "the
girls of la Chassotte"
like Helene Rosier who I met
in the early 1970s in Lausanne, Switzerland, Sedef Hilkan, Anne
Marie Murray,
Christine Poupon who was improving
our diet with mustard and mayonnaise! (I am still addicted to
the mustard!)
I reside now in Hot Springs,
Arkansas and lived in the USA for the past 20 years,
and hope to hear from "the girls".
