I live in a 300 year old cottage and I have managed
to mix the old with contemporary without spoiling
the character
of the property. It has taken me many hours of shopping...
no heartbreak there I might add! and time and patience.
On quite a few occasions I have gone out specifically
to
'find something' for an empty corner or window sill
and come back
empty handed. It has been more successful when infact
something caught my eye on the way to the supermarket?
I am not a designer or decorator (my husband does
the decorating!)
and although I have browsed through many glossy
magazines
I tend to buy what I like and not what is in fashion.
In the following pages I will show you what I have
done
in my own home which hopefully will give you a few
ideas.
I will start with a few photos over the Christmas
period
as it is such a lovely time of the year as it shows
up the true
character of our cottage.
